The MusicPartnership is excited to be working with Denistone East Public school again in 2022!

We will be continuing with a strong focus on concert band and string ensembles in 2022.

We are currently taking expressions of interest for our beginner strings program and our beginner concert band, training band.

Also any students that are new to Denistone East and have been playing a string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument for more than one year, you may be eligible for our senior ensembles.

Band Program

We have a Training Band for children in their first year of learning an instrument. Training Band is open to children in Year 3 (2022) and above.

We will also have a Senior Band for children that have completed at least 1 year of training band or who have been learning their instrument for 1 year or more.

Band at Denistone is open to all children in Years 3-6 (2022). Enrol in band now!

Instruments available to play in band:

Flute, oboe, clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, French Horn, Tuba, Bass Guitar and Drums/Percussion.

String Ensemble Program

In 2022 at Denistone East we will run a variety of string ensembles catering for all levels of players.

We have our beginner string to commence in 2022, our intermediate ensemble “Stravinsky” and our advanced ensemble “Mahler”

The string program is open to students in K-6

Private music lessons

All children attend private or paired instrumental lessons during the week in addition to their weekly band/string rehearsal. Enrol in music lessons now!

Music lessons will be held on school grounds before and after school hours with our specialist tutors.

 

When / where does the band rehearse?

  • Training Band Tuesday morning before school 8.00am-9.00am in the school hall with conductor Mr Charlie Sundborn
  • Senior Band Friday morning before school 7.45am-8.45am in the school hall with conductor Mrs Christine Pringle
  • Intermediate and senior String Ensembles Thursday morning before school 7.45am-9.15am in D1 demountable with Shaun Ng.
  • Beginner string ensemble: the rehearsal morning and time are TBA

 

When / where are the music lessons?

  • Instrumental Music Lessons are currently held Monday-Friday, after school hours from 3pm-6pm, on the school grounds – Lessons will also be held before school hours 7:40am-9.20am, subject to availability

Fees

  • Training Band/string ensemble costs $17.50+GST per weekly session.
  • Senior band costs $17.50+GST per weekly session
  • Private Music Lessons for 2022 cost $41+ GST= $45.10 per half hour lesson
  • Paired Music Lessons for 2022 cost $27.33 + GST= $30.06 per half hour lesson (paired lessons are subject to availability) (the fee is payable regardless of attendance – this is to ensure the lesson can still go ahead for the other party involved)
  • String lessons with Dr Shaun Ng are $44+GST=$48.40 per half hour individual lesson

Payment

All band invoices are emailed out to you at the beginning of each term. You will receive an invoice for band at the beginning of Term 1, 2, 3 and 4.

You will receive a separate invoice each term for your private music lessons. All private music lesson invoices are emailed out to you usually within the first 3 weeks of the current term.

Please make sure we have your current and preferred email address.

Preferred Method of Payment: Credit Card

We accept credit card or direct debit. For direct debit, your nominated credit card will automatically be charged on the invoice due date, each term. Click the direct debit link to download a Credit Card Authorisation Form.
